The Women’s Tour was today declared the Women’s Cycling Event of the Year at the inaugural edition of the Women’s Cycling Awards!
Last year’s edition – memorably won by British rider Lizzie Deignan – was one of five nominees in the much-coveted category.
As this award was determined by public vote, we’d like to thank all those Women’s Tour fans and social media followers who showed their support of Britain’s leading international women’s cycle race.
Next up, we have 🚲 Women's Cycling Event of the Year 🚲!
There were so many strong contenders for this shortlist it was tough to narrow down the field.
But you voted in your thousands so we have a winner!
Drum roll….🥁

Originally set to be announced during the opening day of the 2020 London Bike Show at ExCeL London, the winners were revealed in an online ceremony on Twitter this afternoon.
The Women’s Cycling Awards, supported by Cycling UK, celebrate female talent and achievements from across the cycling world – from record breakers to neighbourhood champions. Eleven of the 12 awards categories featured shortlists selected by a panel of high profile women working in the cycling industry.
Earlier in March, following consultation with stakeholders, sponsors and partners, the upcoming seventh edition of the Women’s Tour – scheduled to take place between Monday 8 – Saturday 13 June – was postponed due to the current international uncertainty surrounding the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
