It’s not just the OVO Energy Women’s Tour returning to Suffolk in 2019: the hugely popular Women on Wheels (WoW) ride is back for a sixth year in Bury St Edmunds this summer.
Aimed at women of any ages, these female only mass participation bike rides aimed at ladies of any age or ability and they focus on the fun, friendly and inclusive aspects of cycling.
The Suffolk ride will take place on Sunday 7 July 2019 starting from Nowton Park, with four routes of 10, 25, 50 and 70 miles available to suit all abilities. Enters are now open – click here for more information.
WoW Bury St.Edmunds, is one of four WoW events across Suffolk this year and is organised by Abbeycroft Leisure in partnership with Suffolk County Council. The event is sponsored by Havebury Housing Association and supported by specialist bike retailer Revel Outdoors, and all proceeds from the event will be donated to local charity, St Nichols Hospice Care, Bury St Edmunds.
There’s an early-bird offer available on the Bury ride until 31 March, offering 25% off the adult fee for the 25, 50 and 70-mile rides.
And this year for the first time there’s also a discount for combined entry to the Bury St Edmunds and Sudbury WoW events.
Last year the Bury St.Edmunds WoW event attracted around 230 riders and raised nearly £7,000 for St Nicholas Hospice Care in Bury St Edmunds. The hospice provides help, advice and support to people in West Suffolk and Thetford who are living with long-term and life-threatening illnesses.
