WoawDeals Pro Cycling is supporting Breast Cancer Care, the Official Charity Partner of the OVO Energy Women’s Tour, by unveiling a special jersey for the race.

On the front of the jersey is the adapted slogan of our head sponsor WaowDeals: Pay less. Pay mobile. Be pink (instead of ‘green’). The jersey has a pink focus; a reference to the Pink Ribbon (the international symbol for breast cancer). WaowDeals Pro Cycling, together with Think Pink, is hoping to motivate more women to cycle.

The jersey also draws attention to the Belgian Breast Cancer Campaign Think Pink.

“Exercising is vital for the prevention of breast cancer. In addition, it is important for the recovery during and after breast cancer treatment. We like to help by – literally – kicking these problems out of this world,” says sports director Eric van den Boom.

All riders in the OVO Energy Women’s Tour received a Pink Ribbon from Breast Cancer Care with a personal message from a breast cancer patient. Many race with it; Anouska Koster wears the ribbon in her hair.

“I got a ribbon prior to the start with a text from Julie. She has been affected twice by breast cancer and writes that she can no longer be treated,” said Koster. “Such a message definitely hits home and makes it clear what life is really about. Winning in sports is amazing, but a person’s health is still a step up the ladder. I will do anything in the OVO Energy Women’s Tour to generate extra attention for the campaign.”

To sample some of the 2018 route yourself, there is still time to enter the official sportive of the race, which supports Breast Cancer Care.  The OVO Energy Tour Ride takes place in Suffolk on Sunday 1 July.  Find out more about the route and enter by clicking here.
