We were thrilled to welcome British sporting icon Dame Sarah Storey and the ŠKODA DSI Cycling Academy to this year’s AJ Bell Women’s Tour.

ŠKODA, the official car partner of the race and sponsor of the Queen of the Mountains jersey, took the opportunity to check out our Atherstone individual time trial course in a fully electric ENYAQ iV SUV.

Not only that, but they brought a few friends along for the ride! With Adam Blythe in the driver’s seat and Juliet Elliott riding shotgun, they recced the 16.6-kilometre route with the ŠKODA DSI Cycling Academy along with their mentor Dame Sarah.

The ŠKODA DSI Cycling Academy is a ground-breaking initiative that has given talented young riders the chance to develop their skills under the mentorship of Dame Sarah Storey. Its aim is to champion the challengers in female cycling, by supporting young, aspiring riders in their mission to make it pro.

To do this, the Academy offers promising female cyclists a pathway to the elite level as well as first-hand experience of life as a professional rider.
