Suffolk-based facilities management provider Vertas Group has been announced as a supporting partner for the Women’s Tour stage in Suffolk for 2020, joining the Palmer Group who signed a two-year partnership in 2019.

The race will be returning to Suffolk in 2020, bringing the UCI Women’s World Tour event to the county for the sixth time in its seven-year history.

Launched on Thursday 16 January, stage six of the Women’s Tour will take place between Haverhill and Felixstowe.

The successor to 2019 champion Lizzie Deignan will be crowned within touching distance of the Port of Felixstowe – the UK’s busiest port – on Saturday 13 June.

Ian Surtees, Chief Executive Officer of Vertas Group says: “The high-profile Women’s Tour is a natural fit for Vertas to get behind.

“The race will roll past many of our clients’ sites, allowing us the opportunity to engage with and inspire many of the thousands of school children we cater for each day, with themed menus and cycling promotions.

With a talented grounds design and landscaping team in-house, we’re also hoping to unveil some superb land art along the route!”

Cllr James Reeder, Suffolk County Council Cabinet Member for Public Health and Prevention, added: “We are delighted to announce Vertas Group as an official supporting partner for the Suffolk stage of the 2020 race. Working in partnership with local businesses is vital if we are to continue to attract these events to Suffolk, whilst maximising the impact that they have for our local economy.”
