The Cycling Podcast Féminin will release daily episodes from the OVO Energy Women’s Tour, the first time they have given the world’s top women’s race the Grand Tour treatment.
The Cycling Podcast Féminin will release daily episodes from the OVO Energy Women’s Tour, the first time they have given the world’s top women’s race the Grand Tour treatment.
The podcast, presented by journalists Richard Moore and Orla Chennaoui, is supported by headline sponsor Rapha as well as Science in Sport, with SKODA coming on board to help support the daily coverage from the Women’s Tour as well as backing The Cycling Podcast Féminin for the remainder of the year.
The new partnership with Skoda follows The Cycling Podcast’s coverage of the recent Giro d’Italia, where the daily shows attracted a total of 1.67 million listeners.
“When we started The Cycling Podcast Féminin it was because we sensed that women’s cycling was growing massively while being under-represented in the media,” said Richard Moore.
“We felt that women’s racing deserved its own show. We are very happy we made that decision, because The Cycling Podcast Féminin has developed its own style and attracted a big audience, averaging 60,000 per show last year.”
Orla Chennauoi said: “It’s really exciting to be producing daily episodes from the OVO Energy Women’s Tour. It’s a huge step forward for us as a podcast, and the appetite from our audience for increased coverage is a sign of how far we’ve come in women’s cycling in a few short years.
“For the first time, we will give the Women’s Tour exactly the same treatment as the Grand Tours – the Giro d’Italia, the Tour de France, and the Vuelta a España – and I can’t wait to get started.”
