SweetSpot announced in mid-February that the 2021 edition of the Women’s Tour will be rescheduled for October with a provisional date of Monday 4 to Saturday October 2021 requested from the UCI.
The Women’s Tour, which forms a part of the prestigious UCI Women’s WorldTour, will start in in Bicester, Oxfordshire, and finish with a stage from Haverhill to Felixstowe in Suffolk. SweetSpot are working with all the regional stakeholders in the 2021 Women’s Tour to accommodate them within the rearranged race and aim to launch the full route in the coming weeks.
Television update
The 2021 Women’s Tour is also intended to be the first edition of the race to feature live television coverage thanks to a new partnership with Eurosport x GCN. The partnership will not only bring live coverage for the race a step closer to happening but also improve our global television reach and bring additional wrap around content on the Eurosport and GCN channels.
Celebrating our community heroes
We are also working with our 2021 venues on the ways that this year’s race can thank and celebrate all of our community heroes that have played such a key role in the past 12 months. We will be inviting them all along to their local stage for what we hope will be a very special occasion.
Looking beyond 2021
The overall start and finish of the 2022 Women’s Tour are now in place (look out for announcements soon!) and we are progressing well with plans for 2023 and taking the race to new regions of the UK.
If you are thinking of bringing the world’s leading women’s race to your city, town or area, or you would just like to discuss what is involved to assess the feasibility then now is the time to talk to us.
Please get in touch with Jonathan Durling, our partnerships director. We would be happy to share our plans and how you may be able to fit into the Women’s Tour in the coming editions.
