The OVO Energy Women’s Tour continues on Tuesday as Kent hosts its first stage of the race in the event’s five-year history.
The OVO Energy Women’s Tour continues on Tuesday as Kent hosts its first stage of the race in the event’s five-year history.
Uniquely, stage two of the 2019 Tour is a kermesse around the Kent Cyclopark, coming just months after the venue hosted the HSBC UK | National Cyclo-Cross Championships.
The OVO Energy Women’s Tour’s visit to the 2.5-kilometre closed road circuit and multi-purpose cycling venue is the biggest sporting event in the county since the 2007 Tour de France visited.
Riders will tackle 25 laps of the circuit; mixed with a sociable 14:00 start time, this is our most spectator-friendly stage of the 2019 race.
PLEASE NOTE! Coming to the Cyclopark stage by car? Parking is extremely limited on site – why not book our park and ride scheme from Bluewater and Ebbsfleet International instead? Click here for more details.

The OVO Energy Women’s Tour expert says of stage two:
“Well, this is a bit of a different stage. While the race’s final three days are where the crucial time gaps are likely to be gained, anybody on a bad day when the OVO Energy Women’s Tour hits the Kent Cyclopark could see their chances of overall success disappear.
“This won’t be an easy day in the saddle at all: the racing will be fast and furious from lap one. The start/finish straight is uphill, too, so timing will be key in the battle for the stage victory.
“While some riders may not enjoy this stage, it’s the most spectator-friendly day of racing in OVO Energy Women’s Tour history. Fans stood in one position will get 25 sightings of the world’s best riders – and a couple of positions around the circuit offer two viewings per lap. You won’t want to miss it!”

Two pupils from St Joseph’s Primary School in Northfleet will have the honour of flagging away the world’s top cyclists on stage two of the OVO Energy Women’s Tour at the Kent Cyclopark, Gravesend, on Tuesday 11 June.
The winning design comes from pupils Ashna and Charlotte (aged 10) at St Joseph’s Primary School, who focussed on the logo and slogan of Cyclopark, where the stage will be held.
