ABOUT BECCLES

Beccles is a charming market town located beside the River Waveney at the southern point of the Suffolk and Norfolk Broads. Set among rolling countryside, the town boasts many independent shops, cafes, restaurants and other businesses, with a wide range of community events taking place throughout the year including a carnival, duck race, antiques market, food festival and more.

ACCESSIBILITY

Beccles Train Station is a five-minute walk from the start line and has infrequent links to Ipswich and Lowestoft.

CAR

Parking is available at:

  • The Quay Car Park – FREE – 20 Fen Lane, Beccles, NR34 9BT
  • Puddingmoor – FREE – Puddingmoor, Beccles, NR34 9PW
  • Ravensmere – free for two hours – Ravensmere, Beccles, NR34 9DX
  • Hungate Lane – pay and display – Hungate Lane, Beccles, NR34 9TN
  • Blyburgate – pay and display – Blyburgate, Beccles, NR34 9TQ
  • Newgate – pay and display – Newgate, Beccles, NR34 9QA

WHAT’S ON

There will be community activity happening on the New Market and Sheepgate so please visit the stands and support those involved.

Pupils from local schools will be welcoming the teams on to the podium (located near the start line) when they sign on before the stage begins.

Ahead of stage one, pupils from the local schools, local cycling club members and local business staff will take part in a lead out ride.

Why not spend the day in Beccles, taking in the many sites of the town and maybe consider hiring a boat (via hippersons.co.uk) and experience the Broads?
