The winner of the ŠKODA V-Women’s Tour, which gets underway at 19:00 BST tonight LIVE on BBC Sport, will receive a unique jersey that has been specially designed for the event from Scimitar Sportswear.

Created for use by the avatar of the leading rider in the ŠKODA V-Women’s Tour on the RGT Cycling platform, Scimitar Sportswear are also producing a short run of the stylish new jerseys, so that as traditional in cycling the winning rider will still receive a physical copy of the jersey to mark their victory.

“Scimitar Sportswear is delighted to be the official apparel partner of the ŠKODA V-Women’s Tour, and to produce the unique jerseys (which are made from up to seven recycled plastic bottles) for the leading rider,” said Adam Church-Millward, Head of Marketing, Scimitar Sportswear.

“Over the past 12 months we’ve innovated and launched a 100% premium recycled cycling range to great press coverage & customer feedback. It is therefore an honour to develop a jersey for the ŠKODA V-Women’s Tour that builds upon our sustainable approach to sportswear.

“Adding the Women’s Tour to our array of top-class events is a real coup for Scimitar Sportswear. It also highlights our ever-increasing contribution and commitment to the development and coverage of women’s sport here in the UK.”

The leading rider following Stages One and Two will also receive a physical copy of the jersey, while they will wear the digital version on their avatar for the second and third stages of the ŠKODA V-Women’s Tour respectively. The design was created by Peloton Design with Scimitar Sportswear producing the jersey from their 100% premium recycled cycling range.

The ŠKODA V-Women’s Tour replica jersey is available to pre-order direct from Scimitar Sports here.
