Entries are now open for the Official Sportive of The OVO Energy Women’s Tour, which takes place in Northamptonshire on Sunday 18 June, just over a week after the world’s top riders will have raced through the county on the opening stage of the 2017 race.
The event will give amateur cyclists the chance to celebrate The OVO Energy Women’s Tour, the world leading elite race that begins in Northamptonshire on Wednesday 7 June, and experience riding on some of the same roads as the professionals, just a week after the conclusion of the 2017 race.
In 2016 over 400-riders took part in The OVO Energy Tour Ride Northamptonshire, on one of three routes, with this year’s event set to follow the same format, including a short Fun Ride for families.
Entries are now open via the British Cycling entry system here, costing just £30 for entry, or by following the sign-up link on www.tourride.co.uk where you can also find interactive route maps.
The 40 and 80-mile routes through the beautiful Northamptonshire countryside that the world’s top riders have raced on annually since 2014, will also include the popular Newnham Hill Queen of the Mountains climb from the 2016 race, and pass through Daventry, which hosts this year’s opening stage.
Northamptonshire will host the opening stage of The OVO Energy Women’s Tour for the first time since 2014 on Wednesday 7 June, with the race beginning in Daventry for the first time before the stage finish in Kettering. You can find out more about Stage One here.
The OVO Energy Tour Ride sportives give amateur cyclists the chance to have the professional experience and enjoy a full supported ride with feed stations on route stocked with products from official nutrition partners of The OVO Energy Women’s Tour HIGH5 and Soreen, plus mechanical support from Vittoria and neutral service support vehicles from Brother.
