We are sad to report this morning that Sharon Laws, Queen of the Mountains in the first edition of the Women’s Tour in 2014, has sadly passed away following her fight with cancer.

The thoughts of everyone at SweetSpot Group and everyone involved in the Women’s Tour would like to send their thoughts and condolences to Sharon’s Mum Joy, the rest of her family and her many friends and colleagues around the world.

We were fortunate enough to have Sharon race in the first two editions of the Women’s Tour, winning the Queen of the Mountains jersey in the first and racing aggressively throughout both editions, while also charming everyone involved in the event with her personality and willingness to promote the event and her sport.

In 2017 Sharon returned to the event to join the ITV4 commentary team for the five stages, and again proved to be a star.

Sharon will forever remain one of our greatest champions and will be greatly missed by us all.
