The OVO Energy Tour Ride is a non-competitive cycling event open to the public in support of Breast Cancer Care. The event is NOT a race; it is a personal challenge and each participant will be individually timed for their own merit.
The 2018 event takes place on Sunday 1 July, starting and finishing in the Suffolk seaside town of Southwold.
Participants riding the 80-mile Pro ride will depart Southwold at 8.30am.
Our 30-mile Challenge sportive begins at 9.30am.
The ride is a sportive open to both men and women.
This year’s event is supporting Breast Cancer Care.
Riders under the age of 12 are not permitted to take part in the event.
Junior riders are deemed to be anybody who is between the age of 12 and 15 on the day of the event. No parental responsibility attaches to the organisers at any time.
Any junior rider who enters agrees to ride in the company of a parent, guardian or other responsible adult at all times during the event.
All junior riders will need to provide a completed parental consent form.

Entries cost £35 (including a £5 donation to Breast Cancer Care) or £15 with a commitment to raise a minimum of £150 for Breast Cancer Care. Both entry fees are inclusive of VAT.

– Feed stations stocked by HIGH5 and Soreen
– Finisher’s medal

Advance entries will close at midnight Tuesday 26 June.
However, subject to availability, riders will be able to sign up on the day.
The start/finish area in Southwold will be completely closed to traffic.
The rest of both courses will take place on open roads, as per the majority of other mass participation events in the UK.
All bikes must be in a roadworthy condition.
Tri bars and other handlebar extensions are not permitted.
The wearing of an approved cycle helmet is compulsory.
Any participant without a helmet will be refused permission to start.
Any participant not wearing a helmet will NOT be covered by event insurance.
There will be three feed stations on the 30 and 80-mile rides; exact locations will be confirmed nearer the event date.
Feed stations will have products from HIGH5 and Soreen along with other snacks that will be provided free of charge to participants.
There will also be the opportunity to fill up water bottles at these locations.
