Haverhill will host the AJ Bell Women’s Tour stage six start on Saturday 9 October.
Haverhill will host the AJ Bell Women’s Tour stage six start on Saturday 9 October.
The stage will start at 11:00am on the Market Square in Haverhill, making its way along Market Hill and the High Street before the race proper starts on Water Lane.
Turning into Sturmer Road, the race will complete a loop of Haverhill coming back along Eringhausen Way before exiting onto the A1017 Rowley Hill and heading towards Braintree
Please consider the following information when planning your journey ahead of race day.
Cycle
A free bike park will be available on the astroturf next to Haverhill Leisure Centre on Eringhausen Way from 8:30am to 3pm.
Train
Haverhill does not have a train station – however, the nearest station is Audley End Station, Saffron Walden, which is 16 miles from Haverhill.
Car
Haverhill is accessible by all major routes.

Road closures
Road closures will be in place from 4am to 5pm on Saturday 9 October.
Accessible viewing area
A dedicated area is located in the grounds of St Mary’s Church overlooking the High Street start area.
Public toilets
Accessible public toilets with baby changing facilities are available at Jubilee Walk, Haverhill. CB9 8DA and Recreation Ground, Camps Road, Haverhill. CB9 8HF (8am to 6pm).
Additional portable toilets will be located outside Haverhill Library, next to the Tour Village in the grounds of St Mary’s Church, and in Brook Service Road.
Stage six start timetable
8:45am – Riders start to arrive
9:15am – Main stage activities commence
9:45am – Schools Parade
10am – Riders sign on
10:50am – Community ride out
11am – Stage six start
11:30 – Elite race loops back along Lord’s Croft Lane & Ehringhausen Way
11:15am to 1pm – Main stage performances
13:00 – Event close
Street performers and entertainers
An eclectic array of performers and entertainers including Aargh, Steve Kaos, Slo Rida, Mark Russell & Those Magnificent Men will perform on the High Street and on the Plaza between 10:15am and 2:15pm.
On the stage
A set of bike-themed songs will be provided by Haverhill’s own legendary Disco, local songmaker Chris James, the 1st Haverhill Cubs and others.

While the event takes place in the open air, we expect larger numbers of spectators to gather in Market Square, High Street and along Ehringshausen Way.
West Suffolk Council wishes to make the event as COVID-19 safe as possible.
It will follow all relevant government guidelines for mass gatherings. As part of this, everyone can play their part and we encourage all spectators to practice ‘Hands, Face, Space’.
