Having been selected to compete in the 2020 Women’s Tour prior to its cancellation owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Essex-based CAMS-Basso Bikes team will belatedly make their Women’s Tour debut in October.

Commonwealth Games medalist and time trial specialist Hayley Simmonds is one to watch in our Atherstone stage; she holds the National 10-mile record against the clock and has represented Great Britain in the discipline every year since 2015.

Having been born in Frinton-on-Sea, Clover Murray will be on home roads during the Colchester to Clacton-on-Sea stage should she be selected to race. Welsh rider Megan Barker and Rebecca Durrell could both place highly in sprint finishes, too.

Furthermore, team manager Simon Howes will make history this year when he becomes the first person to have managed a team at both the Tour of Britain and Women’s Tour.
