FDJ Nouvelle-Aquitaine Futuroscope rider Clara Copponi was named the winner of the inaugural Richard Moore Award at this year’s Women’s Tour.
The award was set up in honour of the pioneering cycling journalist who passed away suddenly earlier this year. In recognition of Moore’s contribution to both the sport and the Women’s Tour, at which he was a regular attendee, the award was presented to the rider who went above and beyond in their dealings with the media over the course of the six days.
A panel of Women’s Tour staff and respected journalists covering the race selected Copponi as the winner owing to her cooperation, positive approach and willingness to communicate in a foreign language repeatedly.
Proud to win the Richard Moore award 🙏🏼 thank you so much @thewomenstour & see you next year 👋🏼 https://t.co/FDM2FJw85B
